Operations

		Richard Wilson - Managing Director Richard is the Managing Director and over the last two years has overseen major transformation of the business encompassing improved manufacturing efficiency, new products and a direct NHS supply contract to ensure that the Company is positioned for future profitable growth. Previously Richard was a Divisional Director and Head of the Technology Sales Business Unit of The Woolmark Company. His particular skills and experience include technology commercialisation, international business development, the establishment and management of sales and distribution channels, contract negotiation and change management.

Jane Bion – Commercial Services Manager

Jane has a successful background in customer services and commercial co-ordination. A Human Resource Management graduate from the University of Leeds, Jane has further qualifications in IT and Business Enterprise and joined Salitas™ from Palladia, a major serviced office provider, where she was conference co-ordinator.

Adele Hudson RGN – Sales Manager

Adele brings the vast experience of more than twenty years as a nurse in the NHS and worked in a variety of specialities including Gastroenterology, Radiology and Cardiology.

Prior to joining Salitas™ she was a Senior Sister in Cardiology at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, one of the largest Cardiac centres in the UK, having a key role in leading new innovations in service and care provision. This included setting up a clinical coordinator's role previously only done by medical personnel for the assessment and treatment planning of acutely unwell cardiac patients - the first time that such a role had been held by a non-medically qualified person in the UK.

Ella Cooper ACA MAAT - Finance Manager

Ella is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a member of the Association of the Accounting Technicians. With 5 years post qualification experience in both Practise and Commercial Industry, previous roles include Group Management Accountant for an AIM listed company and Group Systems Accountant for a Large Plc. In addition to managing Salitas’s finances on a day to day basis and reporting accounting position and performance to the Board, Ella is also working to improve internal systems for efficiency and ultimate profitability.

Directors

Dick I’Anson - Non-Executive Chairman
Dick I’Anson spent 25 years working in the agricultural industry for the family’s animal feed company, latterly as Managing Director. In 1996 he sold his interest in the business to other family members and retired. After a 3 year period, during which he invested in and ran an estate in Scotland, he started to invest in early stage businesses, one of which was Salitas™, offering to make available to them his experience of building and running a successful company.

Ian Rowe - Non-Executive Director
Ian Rowe is is Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer at the University of Bradford. The University is one of Salitas’s major shareholders and the origin of much of the company’s innovative product portfolio. Ian’s role at the University includes the effective commercialisation of the University’s Intellectual Property and Ian brings to the company a strong network of university contacts, potential partners and an excellent understanding of R&D funding support.

Professor Grace Alderson - Non-Executive Director
Professor Grace Alderson is part-time Professor of Medical Microbiology who also contributes in the private, public and charity sectors and retains a wide portfolio of Board level appointments. In addition to being on the Board of Salitas™, she is a member of the governing bodies of Dixons City Academy, the Equality Challenge Unit, Bradford Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust and the University Awards Board and Joint Standard Board for London Metropolitan University. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Biology, the Institute of Biomedical Science and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts Manufactures and Commerce. She has extensive management experience as senior Pro-Vice-Chancellor [Resources] at the University of Bradford and in addition to her academic Chair, has previously held posts of Deputy Head of Department, Head of School, Dean of Faculty and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Staff & Student Matters) as well as working in the NHS. As a research microbiologist with around 100 publications she continues to contribute to education and developments in the systematic biology of medically and industrially important bacteria.

John Yates - Company Secretary
John acts in an independent capacity in the SME sector with particular emphasis on start ups and university spin off companies. His activities in this role include refinancing, restructuring and financial and treasury management together with company secretarial duties. He is currently a director of four independent companies supported by either business angel investors or the regional VC community and is consultant to a further three.
